Dublin Business School

📍 Dublin City Centre Est. 1975 Private Business College

Dublin Business School is Ireland's largest independent college, founded in 1975. The main campus is on Aungier Street, with a second campus on Dame Street — both in Dublin city centre, a few minutes' walk from the financial services district on Grand Canal Dock and the tech offices on the south quays. It is not a university in the traditional sense: DBS is accredited by QQI (Ireland's national qualifications body) and the British Accreditation Council, and awards degrees at NFQ Level 9, which is the Irish equivalent of a master's degree.

The college focuses on business, finance, law, marketing, human resource management, computing, and psychology. Most master's programmes run for one year full-time. Fees for non-EU students are competitive compared with the public universities — most programmes are €13,500, with technology-focused MSc programmes at €14,500. A €1,000 scholarship is available: paying a €500 deposit within 30 days of receiving an offer secures it, and that €500 is credited towards your tuition rather than charged on top of it.

Students from over 100 countries study at DBS. The city-centre location is a practical advantage — most of the employers DBS graduates tend to target are nearby, and the college has built career services and industry links into its programmes rather than treating them as add-ons.

Why students choose DBS

01

City centre location

The Aungier Street and Dame Street campuses put you in the middle of Dublin's business district. Most of the major financial services and tech employers are within walking distance or a short commute — useful if part-time work or networking during your studies is on your list.

02

Competitive fees

Most master's programmes are €13,500–€14,500 for non-EU students. That's among the more affordable postgraduate options in Dublin, where fees at the public universities typically run €18,000–€25,000 for the same level of programme.

03

MBA with specialisations

DBS runs a general MBA alongside specialist MBA tracks in finance, marketing, HRM, cloud computing, information systems, and project management — all at the same fee point. If you want an MBA but have a specific direction in mind, the specialist tracks are worth looking at.

04

Technology and data programmes

A growing range of MSc programmes covers AI, cybersecurity, fintech, data analytics, and business analytics. These can work for students coming from a non-technical background who want to move into these areas — the programmes are designed with that transition in mind.

05

Practical focus

DBS structures its programmes around industry contact. Career services, employer links, and employability are built into the degree rather than offered as extras. It's a college that pays attention to what happens after graduation, which is more than can be said for all institutions at this level.

06

€1,000 scholarship available

A €1,000 scholarship is available to students who pay a €500 deposit within 30 days of receiving their offer. That €500 deposit is credited towards tuition — it is not an additional payment. Worth factoring in when comparing costs with other institutions.
